For the women who are curious about the program, maybe feel or hear the voice that’s like, ‘That’s not for me,’ or ‘I’m not like them,’ I would encourage those women to just take the leap. You don’t have to be like, ‘ I’m gonna squat 350 lbs today ’. You could literally touch a barbell and hate it. Run a mile and hate it. And leave this course completely transformed. It’s about so much more.

The first time I’d ever been to anything like this, where we all felt this kinship as veterans. And that there are other people who are in my position of transitioning, not knowing my focus, what’s my purpose. I wasn’t alone.

When you hear that you’re attending a certified personal training course, you show up, and you assume, or at least I did, that everything you do and learn from that point on, is going to be related specifically to certified personal training. The experience at UHP is so much grander than just certified personal training. Self-reflect and self-work. You have time to sit, reflect, think, and work through things, talk through things. It's much more of a holistic experience.

I've always had a really strong passion for fitness and health, and when I got out, I felt kind of lost in terms of what I wanted to do with my life and what my purpose was going to be after the military. And when I found UHP, it honestly felt like an answer to my prayers. And it also provided the development and the purpose building that I was looking for.
Halle Haas
I’ve learned an abundance of things that I’m able to take with me for the future—about being a veteran in general, and with my fitness career.

All I knew was that this course, this place, has just raging reviews—people who are coming and having a massive transformation. Even if you come to a CPT course and are not planning on personal training, you’ve now done a ton of self-reflection and a ton of growth, where you feel more connected to who you are and your purpose.

The Blueprint
The Blueprint isn’t just the foundation of every UHP course — it’s a personal framework designed to guide each student in discovering their own purpose through intentional work, reflection, and action planning.
Program benefits
- Holistic Personal Development
- Building Mental and Physical Resilience
- Enhancing Emotional Intelligence and Communication Skills
- Creating a Personalized Life Strategy and Plan

Your Strategy for Life
For many veterans, wearing the uniform was the first experience with direction and purpose. Taking it off, however, can be just as challenging, especially when they're uncertain of what will happen next.
The Blueprint is your strategy for life. It’s a framework designed to help you define your short- and long-term goals. It is the backbone of every course at UHP. We believe true purpose is found through health, fitness, and personal growth. That’s why we built UHP: to coach veterans and servicemembers as they discover their “why,” develop new skills and take charge of their future.
A coach is anyone in a position to change lives, and there are many ways to be one. The Blueprint helps you coach yourself first—by reflecting on your experiences, understanding where you are, and clarifying where you want to go.
During your coursework at UHP, your personalized version of The Blueprint includes powerful questions and prompts to guide you in this process.
At the core of The Blueprint are four key pillars:
- Think. Sharpen your mindset and develop mental resilience.
- Train. Build strength, power, movement, and flexibility.
- Feel. Cultivate empathy, emotional intelligence, and connection.
- Lead. Affirm strengths, listen with purpose, and create positive change.
Each of these pillars is powerful on its own, but integrating all four is how we maximize our days, change cultures, and become catalysts for growth.
Combined with our curriculum, expert coaching, and the support of your UHP classmates, The Blueprint is designed to empower and equip you to take charge of your health, performance, and future—so you can live your life to the fullest.

THINK – Move Your Mind
A mindset built on growth, mental toughness, and lifelong learning.
We improve at what we practice. Mental toughness, a growth mindset, and motivation are trainable skills—essential to what it means to Move Your Mind.
Just as we can train our bodies to be more flexible, the same is true for our minds. You already know what it means to be mentally tough—you’ve been tested physically, emotionally, and mentally more than most. But instead of random acts of resilience, this course provides intentional experiences designed to strengthen your mindset.
There are no mistakes—only learning. You’ve likely heard of a growth mindset, but at UHP, we define it by how we embrace effort, perceive failure, and learn from others.
Motivation is the direction and intensity of our effort. Yet when we’re fully engaged—learning, growing, and applying new skills—it rarely feels like effort. During this course, we’ll explore how seeking new knowledge strengthens your ability to Think. Intellectual growth isn’t just about what books you read or what classes you take—it’s about training your mind with the same dedication as your body.
The Think pillar develops self-awareness, openness to new experiences, and a hunger for knowledge. During a UHP course, you will be challenged mentally, emotionally, socially, and physically—but in doing so, you’ll gain the clarity and confidence to create and live a life plan that inspires you and others.
TRAIN – Move Your Body
Deliberate actions to improve overall health.
We are designed to move. Physical, mental, and emotional health are deeply connected—when we train our bodies, we strengthen our minds, elevate our moods, and enhance our ability to handle stress.
At UHP, we take a scientific and holistic approach to training, combining traditional and innovative methods. We aim to develop efficient movement patterns that build the best version of ourselves—inside and out.
From your first day on campus, we train, learn, and grow together. The difference between training and simply working out is intent. Intent drives us, gives purpose to our actions, and shapes the results we achieve.
As you move through this course, we challenge you to reflect:
- What does training mean to you?
- How do your routines enhance not just yourself but those around you?
Training is a shared experience. We all bring strengths, knowledge, and perspectives, and here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches in the country—as well as from each other.
Our training approach focuses on:
- Preparation – Setting the foundation for success
- Movement Enhancement – Optimizing efficiency and mechanics
- Strength & Power – Building functional, sustainable strength
- Endurance – Developing resilience and stamina
- Recovery – Maximizing adaptation and performance
But training isn’t just about what we do—it’s about understanding why we do it. This is the art and science of human performance. Through a blend of hands-on application and classroom learning, you’ll experience different ways to train, move, and help others do the same.
What you do with this knowledge is up to you. We aim to equip you with the tools, insight, and confidence to move with purpose—both in training and life.
FEEL – Know Your Emotions
Building self-awareness to strengthen communication and relationships.
"Control your emotions!"—you’ve probably heard this more than once. But here, we’re not just talking about control; we’re learning how.
Emotions are psychological states shaped by our experiences, physical responses, and behaviors. Feeling is part of being human. Our emotions influence how we see ourselves, interact with others, and respond to situations.
Yet, one of life’s most significant challenges is knowing what we feel but struggling to express it—whether to ourselves or others. Sometimes, we know how but choose not to. Many of us have been conditioned to keep emotions to ourselves, believing that suppressing them is a sign of strength.
But true mental toughness isn’t about bottling up emotions at all costs—it’s about understanding, managing, and expressing them effectively. While there are moments when holding back is necessary, long-term emotional suppression can harm our health, work, and relationships.
We practice: “Pause. Notice. Choose.”
These three words are both a process and a mindset—a tool for emotional regulation. Recognizing, expressing, and communicating emotions is the difference between reacting impulsively and responding with intention.
Just like building physical strength takes time, so does developing emotional resilience. Learning to understand and communicate emotions is a process, not a switch.
Think of it like strength training—our heavy emotional reps come from being aware of what we feel and expressing it in ways that serve us, others, and our mission.
By strengthening your emotional intelligence, you’ll not only improve your well-being, but also enhance your leadership, relationships, and overall impact—on and off the field.
LEAD – Live Your Values
How we live reflects what matters most.
More is caught than taught. Leadership isn’t just about words—it’s about actions. Think about the leaders you admire. What makes you respect and want to follow them? It’s rarely about rank or title—it’s about how they show up every day.
At UHP, leadership starts with knowing your values and living them consistently. True leadership is built on trust, communication, and consistency—the foundations of any successful mission or relationship.
Ask yourself:
- Am I modeling an example worth following?
- Are my actions aligned with my values?
Great leaders understand that before they can lead others, they must first lead themselves.
Getting clear on your personal values is step one. Values aren’t goals—they are a set of chosen principles that guide your decisions and actions, no matter the circumstances. Living by them—even when it’s hard—provides direction and keeps you grounded.
As Roy Disney said, “It’s not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are.”
Values can be shaped by family, faith, environment, or groups we associate with—like the military. But they can also evolve. UHP is a chance to redefine what matters, discover new strengths, and build the future you want.
“It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters, in the end,” – Ursula K. Le Guin
